Last night the varsity baseball team dropped their first game of the season, 11-1 to Olean. Nathan Kloc had a single for Portville, and Adam Wray scored the lone Panther run. Portville heads to Salamanca tonight.

The Portville Varsity softball team opened up league play with 6-0 loss at the hands of the visiting Olean Lady Huskies last night. Sydney Colligan was in the circle giving up 10 hits, 3 walks, and tossing 4 strikeouts to help the Panthers cause. Olean jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first and tacked on 3 more in the second to make it 4-0 through 2. In the bottom of the second Portville would get 2 of its three hits and load the bases with no outs trying to fight there way back but leaving runners stranded would keep the score 4-0. Olean added 2 more runs in the top of the 6th to make the final score 6-0. Portville’s offensive endeavors were lead by Karly Welty, Hailey Unverdorben, and Kara Howard who each went 1-3 with a single. Portville has little time to dwell on this one as they travel to Salamanca tonight to take on the Warriors in league action. Game time is 4:30. GO PANTHERS!
